Derrick Walker went on trial, charged with sexual exploitation of a minor

MINOT, ND-  The jury in federal court found Derrick Walker guilty on all charges.

He was charged with six counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of receiving images depicting the sexual exploitation.

He went to trial to U.S. District Court in Bismarck.

Katie Heidinger from Velva, was charged as a co-defendant for the same crimes. She reached a plea deal where she should testify against him, and will serve 30 years in prison, following 10 years of supervised probation. She is scheduled to be sentenced on March 16 in U.S. District Court in Bismarck.

A pre-sentence investigation will be held before Walker is sentenced. That investigation is expected to take about 90 days.
