GF health reports vaccine hesitancy coming into play

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Grand Forks health officials admit the pace of vaccinations is beginning to slow as the county attempts to reach 60% so-called herd immunity for COVID-19.  Around 40% of the population has received at least one dose of vaccine to date.   The health department’s Michael Dulitz told council members last night the next step is to address those hesitant about getting a shot.

Dulitz says a Census survey suggests 27% of the population in northeast North Dakota are hesitant about getting a COVID shot.  In neighboring Minnesota the rate falls to 12%.

Dulitz says the numbers suggest that health officials have some work to do to get everyone vaccinated.
