N.D.– As of mid-day Wednesday, firefighters are reporting 50% containment and an estimated 5000 acres burned for the Horse Pasture Fire in the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the Little Missouri National Grassland in McKenzie County.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Lighter wind Tues. helped responders contain the wildfire.

So far, there has been no structural damage but the CCC campground, other infrastructure in the park, and some private homes on the north end of the fire are still in danger.
