Suspect arrested following high-risk domestic incident in northwest Minot
Minot, N.D. – A 29-year-old man was arrested after a high-risk domestic incident at a northwest Minot residence, according to the Minot Police Department.
Officers were dispatched on Jan. 3, 2026, after receiving a report of a domestic situation involving an armed adult male. When officers arrived, they encountered the suspect and a standoff ensued. Police said officers maintained communication, which led to the safe surrender of a firearm. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
During the investigation, officers made contact with the victim and determined the suspect had physically assaulted the victim, made threats to kill, and intentionally interfered with an emergency call.
The suspect, identified as Enrique Joel Pacheco, was arrested on charges of domestic violence resulting in serious bodily injury, terrorizing an adult victim, and interference with a telephone during an emergency call. All charges are classified as C felonies.
Pacheco was transported to the Ward County Jail. Police said the investigation has concluded and no additional incidents were reported.
